1246025 2011-11-28 04:05:00 Hello again,

I was recently talking to a friend and he said that there wasn't much of a difference in the graphics card he had and the one I was looking at getting apart from the $210 price difference.

Here are the two cards:

Which card would you suggest for playing Skyrim, WoW, The Sims 3, using Photoshop and for everyday use?

Thanks,
Caleb

1246026 2011-11-28 04:17:00 Theres a big difference between the 560ti and 570 in performance. For the purpose of saving money id say 560ti as it will run basically anything. But if you can afford either the 570 looks nice. icow (15313)
1246027 2011-11-28 04:21:00 Would it be worth dropping down a level on graphics card and getting an SSD, if not I'll stick to the expensive graphics card Caleb Watson (16566)
1246028 2011-11-28 05:22:00 An SSD will only result in fast boot times and load times for games. If you play lots of online games like starcraft i might recommend one, otherwise theyre pretty pointless. icow (15313)
1246029 2011-11-28 05:29:00 What would you look to upgrading if you had an extra $200? Caleb Watson (16566)
1246030 2011-11-28 05:48:00 For me, nine tenths of what I subsequently spend is on storage space, so I'd spend the spare $200 on another drive for backup/archival purposes. Paul.Cov (425)

Depends what you're doing

Gaming = graphics

multitasking & numbercrunching = cpu

rendering = graphics maybe and ram

torrenting = hard drive space

1246032 2011-11-28 05:59:00 What do you think of upgrading from an i5 3.3GHz to an i7 3.4GHz? Would I need that much processing power? Caleb Watson (16566)
1246033 2011-11-28 06:01:00 Can you specify which i7 and which i5? icow (15313)
1246034 2011-11-28 06:03:00 Sure can.

This one is the one they suggested for $309 www.computerlounge.co.nz
But with the extra $200 I could go for this for $459 www.computerlounge.co.nz
