1245421 2011-11-25 20:22:00 While I am a bit deaf, the volume on full is too low, is there anything that can be done about sound, apart of course the normal adjustments. Cicero (40)
1245422 2011-11-25 21:08:00 So is this on board sound or do you have a separate sound card? Snorkbox (15764)

1245424 2011-11-25 21:32:00 If the sound is low,but all the controls are at full in the OS it can be caused by the volume on the actual speakers. Seen that a few times.

Do the speakers have a separate volume Knob.?

What is the OS ( cant remember what you have sorry) ?

Win 7 pro.

I mainly listen via headphones to avoid disturbing the memsahib.

I have tried several and the result is same.

1245426 2011-11-25 22:05:00 But do the Headphone (s) have a separate volume control then? Snorkbox (15764)
1245427 2011-11-25 22:10:00 Maybe get a pair of standard amplified computer speakers with a headphone jack and plug your headphones into that, using the speakers built-in amp, you should have plenty of controlable volume. Just an idea... Iantech (16386)
1245428 2011-11-25 22:19:00 Same thing used to happen, when I installed the ASUS audio drivers. The volume was too low. So, decided to use Win7's default drivers, which are better / louder Speedy Gonzales (78)

Just curious, are he headphones plugged into the front or Rear ports on the PC ?

Just something to look at, open the control panel, make sure its in icon View, look for a second Audio Control.

Mine is Pictured below, (yours may be something else) - I opened it and moved the Audio controls (2nd pic) to full 100% While playing a song -- its a wonder you didn't hear SWMBO yelling -- What the F***k are you doing  The windows rattled and the dog nearly killed herself running out side with fright, and the speakers volume knob is only at about 1/3 volume :waughh:

1245430 2011-11-26 01:33:00 On what? A desktop or laptop? I find laptops are somewhat limited, but with my desktop and Logitech Z-2300's the volume blows your ears off on full. Maybe you just need better speakers. pctek (84)
