1219251 2011-07-26 09:04:00 ^^ problem being its telecom. Yay orcon i want them as our isp now. Their 30gb + phone for $70 looks real nice. icow (15313)
1219252 2011-07-26 23:21:00 I think we're currently at the front edge of a data bonanza. I expect to see increased unmetering, higher mobile data and bigger broadband caps over the next six months. Kiwis are finally taking up smartphones en masse. Zara Baxter (16260)
1219253 2011-07-26 23:47:00 You have to notice though that orcon are doing this because they are installing steam servers, reducing international data loads making this a viable feature. If they just unmetered everything they would go broke (or prices would be insane)

Certainly a much welcome step in the right direction though. I have been reluctant to do anything with steam, mostly because I hate the high level of DRM and have had bad experiences with the program but also because it takes such a significant chunk out of my data cap.

1219254 2011-07-27 03:35:00 I don't like steam because it would be faster for me to fly to VAVLe's headquarters, copy the game onto my USB stick and then fly home again, rather than downloading it. My internet sucks :( Fifthdawn (9467)
1219255 2011-07-27 11:55:00 I wouldn't trust Orcon.
They bought out KiwiWebHost and have made a pig's ear of it.
Support has gone from excellent to zero.
I used to get a response in a few hours.
Now, I'm lucky if I get any response.
If it were not such a hassle, I would ditch Orcon and change to xnet.
