Frankly I'm shocked. His advice won't help anyone get treatment, all it will do is make dentists/optometrists/whoever turn people away.

Yes. Imagine if we all went and took things from shops and said oh sorry I can give you maybe $10 instead of $200. Or some such.

No different for those who provide services instead of goods.
