1246009 2011-11-29 09:20:00 OK - I've done that now. I had done it another way - came to the same thing. I'm glad it's gone - I just have to learn a new habit! R.M. (561)

1246011 2011-11-29 09:54:00 My homepage is Google.co.nz - or if you want a different homepage, just type google.com when you need it or have it as a bookmark.

Don't need a toolbar for that - The less extensions\plugins in the browser, the better, in my opinion.

A search feature with support for your chosen default search engine is inbuilt with most browsers anyway, you just have to set the options right if it doesn't work properly.

1246012 2011-11-29 18:18:00 That's the other thing I did.

Thanks for all your help - odd problem, glad to have it sorted out! :)

1246013 2011-11-30 01:56:00 Most modern browsers just use the address bar to double as a search bar and let you configure the engine of your choice, I fail to see any reason to ever install a search toolbar in a browser.
And yet when I go to help friends with a slow computer I count 5 different toolbars, none of which they say they actually use.
I guess some people like them, but most just don't bother to read as they click through the pages installing software.
