1219241 2011-07-26 05:38:00 "Stuff" Today:

An Auckland security guard will be offered trauma counselling after he was robbed at gunpoint for the second time at a West Auckland mall today.

Two men, believed to have been armed with sawn-off shotguns, fled with two cash boxes after they robbed two Armourguard security workers servicing an ATM outside the National Bank in Glenmall Place, Glen Eden, shortly after 9am.

Police said the robbers pulled up in a dark grey Subaru Legacy station wagon.

" They have left with a couple of boxes,'' Detective Senior Sergeant Stan Brown said.

He said no shots were fired but one of the guards was slightly hurt and both were very shaken.

He said it was the second time one of the guards had been robbed at gunpoint.
Brown said it was too soon to say how much money was taken.

1219242 2011-07-26 06:41:00 Hate to break the news to you pctek, but the bank you were after was actually ASB. Could always try again I guess....But then again I never thought you were capable of a robbery in the first place. --Wolf-- (128)

I am sure pctek knows which bank made the mistake and was only giving a scenario of what does happen.

Makes you wonder why the crims can carry guns but the law abiding security guards are not permitted to carry guns. I have read that security guards in Australia carry guns.

The bank security guards do. Used to make me slightly nervous, but you get kinda used to it.
