| 1247169 | 2011-12-05 08:27:00 | I have on me a 4 channel USB DVR from overseas that I was given. Had the driver disk but it has gone AWOL on me, it is a no name type thing made and distributed under various names etc, Windows detects it as an ALi M5603C which is the chip that handles video streaming(I think) , the scaler chip is a Techwell TW9903 The ALi unit i guess is the bit that needs a "driver" for, it seems to be a common piece of webcam hardware but I cant seem to find many drivers let alone one that works. Only found one on the Asus site for their Bison cam, installs ok but no joy for detecting device. When plugged in the computer recognizes 2x ALi M5603's one installs OK but the other doesn't. The one that installs shows up as a microphone. Anyone have any ideas about getting this bad boy working? Or links to a driver? Right now I dont mind if its a Windows or linux driver, as long as it works. ill keep searching but so far nothing at all. Hopefully disk shows up. Cheers |

| 1247170 | 2011-12-05 08:35:00 | What version of windows is it? If its windows 7, double click on its entry in DM.. / Driver tab / update driver. See if it finds anything. Or go to device manager / then details tab. Change it to hardware ids. Copy and paste whats here in Google. See what Google comes up with |

| 1247172 | 2011-12-05 08:53:00 | Tried in ubuntu, doesnt work natively, just found mention on another forum that none seems to have found a 64x version of the driver. I dont have a W7 32x around. Ill install XP on a spare machine and see if that works. Dunno how long XP will last connected to the internet under the DMZ running a surveillance server :p ill start the stopwatch :D |
