I would like to purchase a DDR3 GPU but I have a DDR2 mobo. Do I need drivers or what? :nerd: |

A videocard with DDR3 will work. (Its not the same as memory that goes in a memory slot). The only drivers you need are the videocard drivers (ATI or Nvidia drivers) |

Thanks. You sure it will work. Does it do backwards compatibility? |

Videocards with DDR3 memory will work. However memory (that goes in a ram slot on a mobo WILL NOT work). DDR 2 and 3 arent compatible with each other. And theyre keyed differently (it wont fit / you cant install DDR3 on a mobo that supports DDR2 ram). And vice-versa
Unless the mobo has DDR2 and 3 slots. But you can only install DDR2 or 3. NOT both . |

The RAM on your video card has NOTHING to do with your CPU\System RAM. |
