1220820 2011-08-03 22:08:00 The coming of the Rugby World Cup does not excite me. I will be glad when it is all over. We will have the Elections to look forward to after that. I will also be glad when the Elections are over.:groan:

The World Cup will bring a lot of visitors to this country which has got to be good.

1220821 2011-08-03 22:15:00 Hopefully it can hurry up & be over with, causing far too much interruption to more important things imo. inphinity (7274)
1220822 2011-08-03 22:20:00 Can't wait!! It's going to be a 'footy feast'. I expect some of the less fancied teams will provide some of the best football too. Looking forward to it, as for once we don't have to watch in the middle of the night.:thumbs: Richard (739)
1220823 2011-08-03 22:24:00 While it may seem a little extreme, SWMBO and I are leaving the country at that time. We did not plan to be away just because the RWC is on but we certainly won't miss the hype. We will be on a trip where we will hear very little news from NZ so we will be spared all that ridiculous carry on.

The only thing about the RWC that we will be vaguely interested in is who won, but all the lead up to that point is of little interest.

1220826 2011-08-03 23:25:00 I enjoy top level rugby games but cannot summon much interest in the RWC. Maybe its because there is plenty of rugby to watch normally, or because it feels like an Auckland event. Maybe its the forced hype thrown out of our TV sets. Whatever, it just does not seem as important as it used to be.

I was a volunteer at a British Lions match when they toured and that was a great experience. The tourists following the games were friendly and the whole match was lke a festival.

Hopefully similar experiences will accompany the visiting teams for the RWC which will lift the whole event beyond being simply a series of games.

1220827 2011-08-04 00:42:00 I'm not looking forward to the traffic stuff-ups here. Would be happy for the WC to be in another country altogether. pctek (84)

Going to Easter Island or maybe the Galapagos islands?
