| 1220428 | 2011-08-02 00:56:00 | ~~Long Rant~~ (you've been warned) Currently trying to deal with two large companies, 1 NZ and 1 international. I have a feeling the NZ one will come through but I'm still going to include it because they've mucked me round so much. PayPal. Had a thread about this a couple of weeks ago and after reading the same thing on other forums I realized there was actually a problem for that weekend, and they're not willing to admit it. Long story short, bought something with PayPal and was charged at 1nzd = 0.79usd. The current exchange rate was 0.86 and had been for quite a while before the purchase. Some tried to justify it in the thread I had, but it went back up to the correct exchange rate the day after I made the purchase. Some people on another forum had the exact same problem. Even with all their fees, it didn't bring it down to 0.79. Anyway, they've stopped replying to my emails. I have now sent 3 with no reply (this was last week). They originally tried to justify it, but now they simply won't reply. My guess is they realized they made a mistake and don't want to correct it. - CourierPost Now I've never had any problems with these guys in the past, they're normally the best of the courier companies but over the last week I've been messed around like crazy. Bought something online from Auckland Sunday of last week (24th). Checked tracking number on Friday online and it said it had attempted delivery on Tuesday and Card to Call was left. Nope, so I ring them and they said the attempted delivery was in a area/suburb that wasn't mine. I had to ring sender and check address was correct, which it was. Ring CP back and tell them address, give description of house/driveway etc. They say it will be here Saturday morning definitely. Saturday midday and I check online tracking. Attempted delivery 10:50am, card to call left. Nope, was home all morning. Ring them up they say it will DEFINITELY be here Monday. Monday evening and nothing all day. Check tracking number and no delivery attempt. Ring them, they said they'll ring first thing tomorrow morning (today) No phone call this morning, ring them, they said they'll ring before 12. It's 11:50am and nothing. /rant Most likely the courier package will arrive eventually, so that was more a rant of being mucked around (normally I'd blame the driver, but they obviously didn't pass on anything from my first phone call to them to the driver, so both are at fault) If it was super important I'd go in a pick it up, but I've paid for overnight delivery (or 2 day) to my door, not 8 day delivery to a depot. Had they actually attempted a delivery here I would have no problem picking it up if I wasn't home when they tried. As for PayPal, well they obviously aren't going to reply. It's not worth trying to phone them as it's going to cost to call. Anyone else had companies that just eventually stop replying when they realize they're in the wrong and they no longer want to do anything about it? |

No, not the bank....... On was HP. In NZ too. They made a massive effort once I lodged the Disputes Tribunal case. In the end what they did was go to the retailer and go through her. She accepted it (she knew about it) which was her choice, not mine, but because she had, I cancelled Disputes with HP. Bit dirty of them though doing it through her when it actually did have nothing to do with her at all. The second was Post haste in Invercargill. In fact this went on and on endlessly the entire time I lived there. Then I sent another thing back down that way while up here. Sort of. Through Now Couriers. Who are great. Unfortunately they then pass it to NZ Couriers who pass it to Post haste Invercargill and of course the usual crap happened. I told Now, the receiver moaned too, it had a happy ending, well, kind of, but Post haste down there still seem to persist in doing the same thing. Always. And always they blame everyone else. Post Haste to other areas, from other areas have been fine. |

| 1220431 | 2011-08-02 12:39:00 | wolf, did you pay for your paypal transaction with a proper credit card, or a debit card? If I was you (with a CC), I'd pull out all the stops to cancel the payment, hell, report it as a lost card or something to the bank. |

| 1220432 | 2011-08-02 12:56:00 | Around here the couriers practically put the 'card to call' in the box before they even knock on the door. Yeah, it can be annoying when you're expected to cross town for a package they were paid to deliver. | Paul.Cov (425) | ||
| 1220433 | 2011-08-02 22:39:00 | Courier did finally come yesterday afternoon. Thought judging from the way he tried to bang the house down, my guess is he got an earful from someone because he didn't seem happy about delivering it. As for PayPal, I paid with a debit card. I mean luckily the transaction wasn't THAT much, and I worked it out that I only had to pay an extra $12nzd or something compared to the correct exchange rate. But that's $12 I should not of had to pay. |

I'd say it'd be too late for that, since the payment has already gone through... |
