1247403 2011-12-06 21:49:00 Correct Kahawai ... I'm in Dunedin. Just sent them a letter and awaiting a reply ... I was going to post on here but the formatting changes too much and makes it a bit difficult to follow.

In essence, it asks for a logical explanation as to why I would go through all the *hassles* to change plans for a net gain of .39c per month when I was promised a saving of almost $20

* and there was a little bit of creative accounting going on which they have admitted to.

1247404 2011-12-06 21:52:00 Weird.

I ended up on the 20GB plan after Big Time was shut down because the 20GB plan was the same price.

Then, they doubled that data to 40GB for free in an upgrade promotion.

Not long after that, they introduced their new Total Home packages and now I have 60GB and the overall price dropped a few dollars.

1247405 2011-12-07 20:38:00 Agent24 ... can I ask whether you intitiated the changes or did you get a call from a Telecom Rep ?? SP8's (9836)
1247406 2011-12-07 21:15:00 When they changed me from 20GB to 40GB I was notified by someone ringing up.
I didn't believe them at first, but the next month my data had indeed been doubled.

I'm not sure if that particular promotion had been for everyone though.

With the upgrade in the Total Home deals, that was all over their website and done automatically for people if it was the same or lower price.

1247407 2011-12-07 21:37:00 Weird, we get more data than before, and a cheaper bill, since switching to the Total Home plans in about July. By the way, yes the plan was on their site well before September, the plans as they currently stand were available to general retail at least as early as August 1st and we're early-offered to some existing customers in June/July. Prior to this, the plans were the same but with lower data caps (Lite went from 5gb to 10gb standard).

Regardless, though, it sounds like the marketer you spoke to misrepresented the plans - you shouldn't *have* to look up their website to see if they're telling you the truth.

That said, it's cheaper (if only slightly) and you get a better deal, so while you're not gettign the $20 saving they suggested you would, you're also not spending MORE, or getting LESS. It'll be hard to argue.

I feel your pain.

We should be taught about talking to walls at school, which is what it is like talking to these faceless gits.
