1246907 2011-12-02 22:36:00 Mate in Kaitaia region say he can't get an internet connection.
The only clue is that eset said it couldn't up -date yesterday, other than that, nothing to report as different.

He said, over the years he can't get a connecion at 4 pm but can at 5 pm, but this has gone on for much longer.

I have no idea what to suggest to him.

Thanks lads, once again.

Forgot to mention, he has done all the usual, diconnect everything and re connect, modem etc.

1246909 2011-12-02 23:12:00 Unplug all phones apart from the one plugged into the port which the internet uses (if there is one) leave the filters in. Check if the router gets an ASDL Handshake or not, this should be viewable in his routers settings. Still doesn't work try removing the last remaining phone and swaping the filters around or you could ring the ISP, most ISP's will troubleshoot that for free over the phone anyway. icow (15313)

The ISP did all the checks I mentioned he had done, and it ended with him being told to diconnect Eset, which he was unable to do, not knowing how.

You are right, he needs to use ISP but thought you might have a trick up sleave.

By ythe way, I am not receiving email notices from here, even though setting are telling it to do so, what might that be?

I will pass you info on Icow. und ta.
