| 1222722 | 2011-08-12 01:57:00 | I require some assistance on house maintenance I have a bit of a fragile wall in my room. img824.imageshack.us (imageshack.us) I'm not quite sure how to repair it. Should I just repaint it on top? You see the paint has come off with a little bit of paster . The hole isn't deep. Just about 2-3mm deep. 2cm wide. What would be the best way to repair this small patch? Thanks |

Scrape any loose paint off using a filler knife and then use something like Red Devil "Onetime" filler then give it a sand and primer, then paint normally. Your best bet would be to pull the fibrous plaster down and put Gib board up instead as it will always be a problem. |

No it is just fibrous plaster and they have never used a proper sealer on it when painting it originally so after a while the paint starts to come off sometimes taking some plaster with it too. It looks like it has been badly done previously. There doesn't appear to be any water staining in the plaster showing. I have struck many of these. They are never any good after a fire. |
