1222140 2011-08-10 03:48:00 Hi,

Can someone get me the contact number for Telecom??

I changed my plan yesterday... Which apparently cost me 115 according to the first person I spoke to... Who hung up on me.
The second person I spoke to said 125$...

Then I was put on the wrong plan for a whopping 155$....
(Philippines call center)
I called them today, said they said 135$... I asked to be put to a call center in NZ - I wasn't. I could hear people speaking in a foreign language in the background...
They first told me I was on my old plan, then they told me I was on the plan that I wanted to be on, and later recanted it all and said I was on a different plan altogether....

And they kept telling me 135$ was the right price that I wanted, which is wrong even according to their website...

When I asked to speak to their manager, I was question several time why I wanted to speak to one, when I insisted they hung up on me.

I would like to someone in NZ, someone who can rectify my problems.
Perhaps someone here knows the right number to call to speak to someone in New Zealand?

Thanks.

1222141 2011-08-10 03:52:00 Theyre probably not in NZ, theyre offshore. Or take your pick (www.telecom.co.nz) Speedy Gonzales (78)
1222142 2011-08-10 03:55:00 As, I said, the call center was in the Philippines, when I asked to speak to someone in NZ they transfered me to someone else with the same accent and I could hear an Asian language spoken in the background, so I assume they lied to me. They insisted they were in NZ, when I asked to speak to a manager they hung up on me.

Which is why I want a number for someone in NZ.

Edit: Yes, I have tried those... 0800 225 598 is what I normally call, they say they forward me to 123 but it's the same call center...

1222143 2011-08-10 03:57:00 If you mean xtra, the one I always use is 0800225598

It will be hit and miss if you got someone in NZ, the majority of the call centers are over seas.

1222144 2011-08-10 04:01:00 As above. I do not want to call that call center again to hear more BS from people who seem to be inconsistent, can't give me the right answer, do what I ask of them and hang up on me.

I have been a Telecom customer for about 15 years. I deserve better than to be hung up on by an offshore call center.

1222145 2011-08-10 04:04:00 Who hung up on me.
... when I insisted they hung up on me.

Thanks.
Start logging everything, calls to telecom, correspondence. You may need it to dispute the next bill they send you.

1222146 2011-08-10 04:10:00 Well as above / what has already been said. It doesnt matter if you want to talk to someone here. If there's noone here to talk to. You'll have to talk to whoever answers the phone. Whether they're here or in Timbuktu

Thats what happens with places like telecom. They send you to some crap place, where they have no idea what youre talking about. Or what you want

It happens with most of the big companies these days. Get used to it

1222149 2011-08-10 05:40:00 I was on the phone to Telecom quite a bit yesterday regarding toll calls yesterday, every person I spoke to spoke fluent english and the other people I could hear also.
(Hmm wonder if that was because I was given an 0800 number that "accidentally" routed me internally inside telecom?)
