1222030 2011-08-09 04:59:00 I've got a f&p top loader washing machine here, when its filling with water it keeps stopping, beeping every 5 seconds and flashing the hot and cold water lights. it resumes when I press start. apparently this error code means the washer isn't detecting water in the machine... how can I fix it? could it be a sensor or the computer at fault? is it a simple fix?

1222031 2011-08-09 05:17:00 Start by removing the washer fill hoses; both the cold and the hot water hoses. Check for proper water pressure from the house. To do so, turn the water on and put the hose inside the washer or a bucket.

If water pressure is good, check the water valve inlet screens. Most residential washing machines have inlet screens. The screens prevent minerals from clogging the solenoid. With the hoses removed, you can visually inspect the water inlet screens

Check the small tube that connected to switch. switch off power. Remove the tube and refix.

1222032 2011-08-09 05:18:00 Is it a smartdrive? There is a way to decode these flashes (just have to remember how). I had a similar prob a few yrs ago. It may mean the inlets (at the back are blocked, or the solenoids (I think theyre called are shot) Speedy Gonzales (78)
1222033 2011-08-09 05:33:00 ok haven't done that yet I just put it on spin for now... before that though I just pressed start again and let it fill. water pressure is good and was filling for long enough to be full, but then it stopped again and stArted beeping, so I opened the lid and the water was less that a third full, I was watching it and noticed the water was actually draining out even though it was on pause. I noticed a website said to make sure the drain hose isn't too far down the sink pipe thingie, so ill check that and also try what you guys mentioned and report back... what small tubes connected to a with are you referring to, pctek?

1222035 2011-08-09 05:43:00 just checked, the drain pipe is apparently only mean to be 6 inches down the sink pipe thingie, but my girlfriend had stuffed it all of 1 meter down into the pipe.

1222036 2011-08-09 05:50:00 Have a read of this pdf (www.google.co.nz FF%26P%2520Service%2520manual%2520517735.pdf&ei=qLtATpivMYrEgQeu3d3JCQ&usg=AFQjCNFzXvSnAxWY2zkPtPrmKtXzWmOwJQ). The water pressure for both maybe too low Speedy Gonzales (78)
1222037 2011-08-09 05:59:00 Had a similar issue with ours, ended up needing a new processor board. Repair exchange was about $100 from memory. Alex B (15479)
1222038 2011-08-09 06:07:00 When this thing got fried (because of a power surge), it fried the controller board (the circuit board under the cover) =$185 to replace it and $88 for labour. And they also replaced the water inlet valve $38 Speedy Gonzales (78)
1222039 2011-08-09 07:00:00 Check this out applianceguru.com

This has help me out a few times, find the model and troubleshoot

You will find the beeping is a code (they are worse to troubleshoot than a Comp)
