To compare the leader of the British Nazi party, with Enoch Powell. a brilliant scholar, and one of the brightest men ever to grace the House of Commons, is equivalent to shooting the messenger, because you don't like the message, even though the truth of the message is patently obvious to any who care to observe. You'd expect people like this to love Enoch Powell as he was someone who expressed the same views. You have to laugh though when you see the anti-immigration crowd are often immigrants to New Zealand themselves. Be consistent, if you don't believe in immigration then go back where you came from. |

Later on when I have more time I will enlarge on the conditions in the big cities in England during the early 1950s, which led to the problems outlined by Enoch some 10-15 years later...too late actually. It will not influence 12v in any way, but maybe reveal info to those who were not around then. |

I'm too young to really remember Enoch but my parents talked about him a lot even though down in rural Kent the immigration problems didn't affect us. We got the later immigrant problem in the 90's- 2000s of the illegals from Eastern Europe, my first cousin works for immigration on the channel tunnel and often at Dover docks. All of the Kent towns now have ghetto's formed by the illegals who were not kicked out by the successive soft governments including his Right Holiness Tony Blair. I can give you real first hand accounts of the illegals problem as witnessed by myself if anyone's interested |

| 1222642 | 2011-08-14 23:18:00 | I would just like to apologize for my comment earlier in the thread regarding Maori - It was a lot more insensitive than I intended, and it was also partially just stirring, obviously the topic is a bit hot considering the recent happenings here on the forum. It's not that I don't think the same thing has the potential to happen in NZ - it could, but I should not have singled out Maori - any group or ethnicity, kiwi or otherwise would appear to be capable of it given the right (or wrong as the case my be) circumstances. I'm sorry for any offense the comment caused. :) This is proving to be a very interesting thread. |
