| 1247757 | 2011-12-10 04:25:00 | I disagree, I don't own a console any more (mine was stolen) and greatly prefer PC gaming, but I'm neither a child nor financially strained and I quite enjoy some games on a console. To me it's about the games and the control style you prefer. I don't enjoy FPS or RPG or Strategy war games on a console because I feel a keyboard and mouse is the best control method (which also requires a desk IMO). But I really do enjoy driving games, fighting games, some snowboarding type games, sitting back in a comfy chair, cotroller in hand, big screen HD screen and full on 5.1 surround, on a console. Yeah sure I could set my PC up in the lounge, grab a controller, and get much the same experience, but not all games are available on all platforms and the console is perfectly capable of playing good games. There's also the peace of mind of not worrying about system requirements and knowing the new game you just bought will run properly. |

If you don't use it thats your problem, no one forces thoust to buy oneself an XBL subscription. In my general observation/opinion consoles are for the more casual "couch" gamer. You want to sit down and have fun. The whole emphasis is on ease of play. Simplicity and fun. PC gaming is more "hardcore" there is a stronger emphasis on raw skill and an immersion atmosphere. A lot of effort is put into intense effects and stunning visuals as computer graphics cards are more powerful (and upgradeable, remember the 360 is 6 years old) and since you tend to be sitting closer to a PC screen than a TV the 360 gfx card doesn't render alot compared to a PC one. Fine texture is discarded along with fine anti aliasing. So when it comes down to the visuals as well, PC's are for the more "into it" person and consoles for the weekend warrior. Not to say there are no hardcore 360 gamers (there are, belive me) just that seems to be the general profile. |

Ok I'll just play the completely amazing singleplayer for bf:bc2 for the rest of my life. IMO you shouldn't have to pay to play online. Especially considering that a lot of games have terrible sp now. |
