| 1222734 | 2011-08-12 02:48:00 | You could just paint it but it would look yuk and probably peel. Sand, fill and then paint like has been said. As it is fibrous plaster sanding will only rough up all the fibres. As I said scrape off any loose paint using a filling knife then fill etc. As it is a wall you are going to get this time and time again so if you can afford it, it would be cheaper in the end to replace it with Gib board. |

As advised above sand fill sand again then paint . +1 With the amendment: clean any loose stuff from the hole, fill, sand, fill, sand paint . The first fill, overfill the hole and then sand back flush, the second fill, do a light fill (should be just to cover any low spots) and sand back flush . Make sure you allow sufficient time for the filler to dry before you sand (read the instructions on the filler container) . When sanding has been completed, wipe with a damp cloth to remove excess dust before painting . |
