2019-08-08 10:04:00 | Have you tried their own uninstall tool? www.avg.com | Agent_24 (57) | |
2019-08-08 10:46:00 | Yes, tried that, didn’t work. Unless I did it wrong somehow, might have another go tomorrow when not so tired..... AVG a real b$#@&*% when it’s stuck on there! LL

2019-08-08 21:01:00 | I haven't used it for ages, I can only think it needs admin privileges probably, or Win10 is doing something weird as usual. What's exactly the problem with AVG? You could manually remove startup entries, services etc. Have you tried reinstalling it, then using the removal tool?

You could manually remove startup entries, services etc. Have you tried reinstalling it, then using the removal tool? It only gives the options of Change/Repair . Ill try the admin privileges if I can find out how to open it that way. Cheers, LL |

2019-08-08 22:30:00 | You should always run such tools as Admin. There's often locked/system files with AV software that a "normal" privileges can't remove. | autechre (266) | |
2019-08-08 23:41:00 | Right click the .exe AVGclear or whatever choose "run as admin", I haven't used the tool for a while but choose "change" and then follow through to uninstall I think. | zqwerty (97) | |
2019-08-09 01:09:00 | I use the 'AVGClear' tool a lot and it's pretty good most of the time. Running it in safe mode is not a bad idea. | wratterus (105) | |
2019-08-09 05:24:00 | All fixed now, finally got rid of it in Safe Mode and deleted all the start ups files too. Thanks for all the ideas guys! LL
