| 1462877 | 2019-08-04 04:23:00 | I am trying to Install Windows 10 from cd. I think that I have previously corrupted something as I am not getting the 'Press any key to load from cd' option. The BIOS is set to look at the CD first but does not appear to be doing so and goes straight into looking at the Hard Drive, which is corrupted. How do I get the 'load from cd 'option back? Thanks for any help offered. |

| 1462878 | 2019-08-04 06:17:00 | It will be one of two things, either the DVD is not burnt correctly and wont detect OR more than likely the UEFI Boot sequence on the BIOS. Several ways to sort it depending on what you want to do. Depending on the Motherboard you should have an option to select a boot menu, if so tap the appropriate key to access it. Select UEFI {your DVD Drive} It should then detect the DVD. If you want to wipe all the previous OS and start from Fresh -- 2 options: ( keep in mind this will delete everything, all data, programs the lot) So you need to save anything beforehand. 1.Download and create a bootable CD from some partition software - boot from that ( may need to do above method), wipe ALL Partitions, then boot from your Windows DVD, since the HDD will be blank it will boot from the DVD. The one I suggest is www.disk-partition.com It builds a CD that boots with UEFI settings. 2. Change the BIOS boot to Legacy, boot from the Windows DVD, remove all partitions, change once deleted, reboot, change the BIOS back to UEFI, boot from the DVD reinstall fresh. ( optional) leave the BIOS as Legacy. |

| 1462879 | 2019-08-04 21:47:00 | If the BIOS is set to boot on CD/DVD, then most likely cause is the disc isn't burnt as a bootable disc. Any decent disc burning tool (like imgburn) will tell you if the DVD is bootable or not. You can use the Microsoft Media Creation tool to download and prepare a proper Win10 .iso - burn that to a DVD and you should be good to go. If you want a quicker install, you can set the tool (or better yet, use a tool called Rufus) to create a bootable USB stick. |
