1468380 2020-05-01 06:52:00 gary67, how is the pricing at the Hot Pools, now that it's not crowded with tourists' and are you paying any less?.

Used to love driving there in the olden days and paying a reasonable entrance fee/day and frequent visits charge.

Took the son and his fiancee one time when it was snowing and that was quite an experience.

Currently shut and won't reopen until level 1, they are shedding staff in both the pools and the iSite SWMBO lost hers this week. Pools now cost $35 for an adult as it now includes the price of the slides which you used to pay separately for. Still I know where to find some nice free pools if you have a good 4WD, we don't pay for the pools since SWMBO been working for them and even though her job is gone she can go on the casual roster so it will still be free.

1468381 2020-05-01 07:13:00 Fish....um, not big fish eaters.
Fish and Chips...pretty much never.

On the extremely rare occasion we would have a takeaway we'd go to Canton Wok or the Turkish place in Marewa.

But mostly home made.

I made KFC for dinner the other day. Coleslaw, similar to theirs, chips - oven chips I don't deep fry them, and the chicken, well I don't double coat, just single and don't deep fry them either.
So sort of KFC.

I worked out it came to $7 for the four of us. And some leftover coleslaw too so lunch the next day as well.

Vs whatever they charge for a box of 2 pieces, chips and slaw each now...more than that I bet.

1468382 2020-05-01 08:34:00 Father and Grand Father were both bakers' and butchers for years, so much to much meat, bread, well we never got sick of it, as kids we used to go to the shop and pick-up the bread and it was still warm and we would dig into the lovely middle loaf (no such thing as a whole loaf), don't remember ever being told off for doing that.

Grandmother had to sell the business to pay the death duties.

1468383 2020-05-01 21:28:00 What are death duties?
We like the crust best, fresh warm crusty bread, with fluffy inside.
Crusts are the Best bit.

Did a small roast the other night and had hot meat sandwiches for lunch next day........kept a bit of the gravy to re heat too.
Fresh bread, hot meat and gravy, yum.

1468384 2020-05-01 22:45:00 Death duties are a form of tax where the government effectively takes what you have built up in your life time instead of it passing on to the beneficeries named in your will. The current government wishes to re-introduce it but have been unable to pass the required laws at this time. CliveM (6007)

Stayed in the MU flats back on the 7 Feb 20, daughter and family in one and we in the other.

Daughter paid for the pools, so us oldies were probably ripped off on the slide inclusion, lol.

No 4wd and not allowed that far out either, but thanks for the offer.

Like the (CG) capital gains tax, will never happen while members of parliament hold rental properties, sad.

.

No, we had the mint sauce (as it was sheep) but far better when warm.
Something about a warm sheep meat sandwich...

Barkers Balsamic Mint Sauce to be exact, I love that stuff, I order direct from them.
