| 1467931 | 2020-04-11 05:22:00 | From doctors reports no doubt. Most people don't DIY these days. :groan: But doctors that do, in in places where it is illegal, prefer not to keep records. :D |

I suspect that no-one here really knows how the economy works and even some politicians. Here is comment from a Professor from OZ who has different ideas - www.odt.co.nz |

Here is comment from a Professor from OZ who has different ideas - www.odt.co.nz Deficit is not a bad thing? Right, that's like saying a household can run happily on an overdraft. Debt is a bad thing, household or govt. And more important, govts need a source of income...like exports, and tourism and such. When it stops or decreases, so does the income. Expenses don't. Which leads to............... Think it doesn't matter? I remind these people of Zimbabwe, Germany (post war), Hungary and even the likes of Greece. |

| 1467935 | 2020-04-11 23:03:00 | Then it's probably more. Yes indeed, which in turn makes the precise figure of 9,913,702, Worldwide Abortions between January 1st and March 25th 2020 a load of Hogwash. |

| 1467937 | 2020-04-12 01:32:00 | And while we're about it, why not remind people of Venezuela, the Socialist dream turned into a living nightmare for millions. Why? Whats that got to do with our govt needing to recoup money it has handed out (and might yet continue) and lose revenue from a lack of tourism etc? My point was you can't run a country long without getting revenue, ignoring the debt only works for so long. |

| 1467938 | 2020-04-12 01:36:00 | And while we're about it, why not remind people of Trumpistan, the Capitalist dream turned into a living nightmare for millions. FTFY :) |

| 1467939 | 2020-04-12 01:43:00 | In reply to Piroska; exactly. At the Venezuelan end of the scale, if you keep spending more than you've got, printing more paper money, scaring off (in the Venezuelan's case because of political unrest and increasingly inbred violence) the tourists. Then as you make the point you can't run a country long without getting revenue. This Labour government has already spent the billions of $ of surplus they inherited, continues to spend more where it's not needed (example - the elderly's winter heating allowance was unnecessarily doubled - when that could have been allocated to health and education). |

| 1467940 | 2020-04-12 01:53:00 | Further Alarming News! The US death toll from coronavirus has eclipsed Italy's for the highest in the world at more than 19,700. (Stuff 12/4/20) 10300 Fancy that, a country with 5.4373757 times the population and 31.099442 times the land area, manages to take the lead in the Corona Virus stakes. Frightening statistics. |
