1467548 2020-04-03 06:56:00 2 weeks ago, New York had 300 cases. Today they have 30,000. First time in the pandemic a city had 1,000 deaths in a 24hr period. Guess where? You got it, New York City.

It's just the maths. Exponential maths is a cruel thing. Watch this space!

Well, if New York had 1000 deaths in a 24hr period, (not saying they didn't) and that was to increase Exponentially, by day 24 there wouldn't be a person left on earth to report it .

Reminds me of the old one of a Blacksmith and Farmer arguing over the cost of shoeing the farmers horse .

In the end the Blacksmith said I'll put the first nail in for 1c and we'll double up from there .

Let's say there are five nails in each shoe and the horse had four legs .

How much did the farmer have to pay the blacksmith? :D

Not quite, not at all actually :)
There isnt a 100% death rate and isnt a 100% contagion rate .
So , at the very worst, assuming EVERYONE gets it, 2-10% of the population dies .
But still not that simple, some races are possibly less prone to adverse effects than others, some blood types less prone to adverse effect of Corona . But not enough hard data to be sure.
Could be why Sweeden is doing not all that bad considering they arnt in lockdown at all.

Just 100% speculation, Italy & NY both hit very hard. Perhaps those of Italian descent are more prone to needing hospitalization/dying from Corona than others?

1467552 2020-04-04 00:26:00 Look, they said Italys reporting is a bit skewed.
My husband is one of those that would die for sure if he got. Can it then be said he died of the virus?
Cause a cold will kill him too. Hell, catching nothing and he could die anytime.
His health is so bad now if he goes quiet at night I reach over to see if he is still warm. Considering usually he pants like a steam train and any exertion causes bad results. So when the noise stops, I worry.

If he did get it I would say they'd write that down. If it was a cold they wouldn't....

1467553 2020-04-04 04:19:00 I understand what you are saying. My mother in law's death certificate had heart attack on it but she died in a hospice riddled with bowel cancer.

1467554 2020-04-05 02:05:00 Well slightly happier news. Went shopping today, thought we'd try today rather than Monday.

Less queues, Pak n Save still out of flour but other stuff seemed OK.
Countdown did have flour, not that we need any....

But it was improved. Pak N Save had normal prices, some of Countdowns were infaled the scummy price gougers.

(We only get my mums special milk there, my Epicure cheese and the $2 biccies - $2 biccies were still $2.)

Does that mean every country now has it ? just wondering,
Is there actually any place that has not had it ?

is there a stats page that tells us when the first case was reported and then by country when they had their first case ? like an order of countries........ ?
