There may be an easy fix, the problem is of course finding that easy fix . Someone else may pipe in with some ideas

sometimes reload is the quickest and best option. You'd need to re-install all your programs & resetup email etc

Win10 has a reset option .

Is windows trying to Download or install updates, that can sometime slow things down .

Even though Malwarebytes acquired it not long ago it has a more aggressive scan

1463598 2019-09-05 02:11:00 if its only chrome that's causing a problem, you fix chrome no need to reinstall.

Couple of things to try - Open Chrome with all extensions turned off.

Try Incognito mode - open chrome, top right click on the 3 dots - Select new Incognito Window - a new window will open, does this lag ??
Another way is to add in another extension which turns them all off ( ironic isn't it) ;) you can download it from chrome.google.com Once installed there will be a new power button top Right to toggle the extensions on/off.

If Chrome works OK with no extensions then its one of them causing the problem. Open the extensions and turn them on again one at a time till it plays up - that's the culprit.

If the extensions off still plays up, theres several things you can do, scroll through this list. ( Note: Backup any bookmarks first) www.teamknowhow.com

1463599 2019-09-05 03:03:00 All good thank you .. seems to be smoothly operating.

I would appreciate your thoughts though .. should I remove ASC and OBIT stuff and use Malwarebytes (paid for option) Would that be better for me?

1463600 2019-09-05 03:18:00 Go back and read what 1101 posted in #9 - I'm of the same opinion, IOBIT - Advanced system care = rubbish.

Going by the comment that Malwarebytes found a lot, on its own that confirms what ever was there previously wasn't doing its job in protecting. What you want is programs that have active protection, which means they stop any bad or suspect downloads OR infected sites from loading in the first place.

Like this:

For an example, using Nod32 going to an infected site will stop it, obviously I'm not going to tell you what the site is, but its a well known movie streaming site. ;)

BTW ignore the title in the program, it is Nod32 but a different version managed by my own business servers.
