hi. Yep I am familiar with Sandbox and its benefits. Winder why I haven't used it when I am on net or installing new apps etc. Might be a bit of extra security I could start using again.
I have looked for any info in Event Viewer and there is nothing. Last entries were at about 4.45 in 1/09/19 and that was it. No warnings or record of Warning or Critical Errors. Same in minidump, nothing at all for the BSOD that happened on 1/9/19. Last minidump was on 18th August 2019. So have nothing to work with. I noticed in one of the pics I posted when running chkdsk on the not opening MP300, it said MS Shadow Copy Provider had an error" I checked Services and MS Shadow Copy Provider Status was Manual. I set it to Started, because I thought that may be why I couldn't do any Syst Restore, as was stated when I read the info on Services re" MS Shadow Copy Provider. I can always reset its Status to Manual if that is what it is meant to be.
I don't have Macrium installed on this restored system. I am going to need it to backup. I have set up Hyper V in Windows Features ad Hyper V is enabled in BIOS.
cheers.
edit: is best to install Macrium to HDD that is not C drive?

1463533 2019-09-07 22:47:00 Windows sandbox says I am not connected il internet. That is when I try open Edge. It seems it will not recognize any Browser that is not Edge. I use Opera. Also anything that is not Windows or MS is not accessible in All programs. I try it again tomorrow. Had that happen a few times, have a read of the following, often its something minor. www.thewindowsclub.com (www.thewindowsclub.com Windows 10 Settings app,Internet in the isolated environment.).

Also make sure you dont have any other VM's open / running. The problem I had once was VMWare was open (had it minimised) and Sandbox didn't want to know about it. You wont have access to any programs or files on the Host OS, thats the whole point of sandbox, to isolate the original OS. You can install what ever you want in sandbox it will work, BUT once you close sandbox everything is deleted./ gone.

Re the problem with the original Drive - when nothing is showing in the eventvwr or other logs, just reading previous posts it may have simply run out of grunt and froze / crashed. One post its mentioned the CPU and other components running at 99% or as high as they will go. If theres a hardware failure as well it sometimes simply wont log - it just turns turtle. Until its fund out whats wrong with the M.2 it may be an unknown.

hi. I will try Sandbox again. After I have read the link you supplied. I remember when I used Sandboxie that I could click the Browser Icon and have the dropdown box of options and I could choose to run the browser in Sandboxie. It would open with a with a border of orange broken lines meaning it was being run in the sandbox.
As for the no show of bsod minidump file or the event viewer I did kinda guess that the way in which the freeze up and BSOD came about and the no boot to the MP300 would be the reason for there not being any 'records'
Yeah VidCoder is heavy CPU usage (85%) and I had that running doing a encode to MP4 for almost 2 hours with CPU at 99% (as it always was when VidCoder was in use), had VLC playing a movie that was on a different HDD to the one that Vidcoder was sourcing and saving the encode to a different HDD as well. I have done it before and the movie played fine (HDMI from Radeon RX580 to the Samsung TV) and the CPU usage stayed at 99%...also if I played Sniper Elite and was using Vidcoder it all functioned with no problem. I have had flashes of memory that when I went to shutdown VLC on the computer that there was some fast popup about an Update but I cannot remember if it was for Windows or AV. Couldn't have been AV because there wasn't one installed when I got the Image opened here and could use W10. I had removed the Eset IS I had and hadn't re-installed Comodo IS.
What I will do is install the MP300 on its own and use the USB's of Disk Genius and Easeus winpe to try to access/format the MP300 again and take pics of what the given reasons and fails are. I will summarize all that has been written in this thread and send the MP300, summary and a link to this thread to Computer Lounge next week, see what they can come up with.
As for the now working W10 that is on the Samsung Evo860 SSD, as it has been updating Windows Security and Features I will leave it as is for a few days, back it up, then wipe the Intel 512GB M2 NVMe and instal the image to that. Then I intend to wipe the Samsung SSD and use it as a Storage / Secondary drive to instal programs to and for downloads to go to etc. Might put the Pagefile on it too :D
cheers, I go have a read of the link, check no other VM is running in background and try Sandbox again

hi..with respect to the Sandbox and having read the link you supplied and trying a couple of suggestions I still cannot get Edge connected in Sandbox. Here are some pics.
I gave up with having to go to Microsoft Store to download an app to send a Report of Sandbox with fault Not in the mood to be sent on a merry go round search for fix to a problem and thinking what am I, a Beta Tester??
ciao for now :D

1463539 2019-10-03 18:16:00 Well I think this is the end of the thread. I contacted the Computer Store from whom I bought the Corsair MP300 M.2 NVMe SSD and sent my initial entry for this thread and a link to the thread should the techs wish to read it so they could come to a conclusion and hopefully advise me on what to do.
Here is that which I sent to them, their reply and my reply to them. Can always hope but I thing the MP300 is heading for the Nuclear Waste trash bin.

W10 on M.2 NVMe not opening
Hi. About 5am my computer went BSOD, collection details, Stop code was System service exemption. It rebooted, kept rejecting my password to sign in, said its wrong. Rebooted, Tried using W10 Instal DVD to use Repair function, wouldn't allow System Restore, said to reboot and pick an Op System to restore. Wouldn't boot into GParted live CD.....
Rebooted into BIOS (UEFI), checked the boot order, noticed that the Corsair MP300 NVME was not showing in the list of Sata/Drives... M.2...N/A is what was shown. Yet I could see the MP300 drive listed in the Boot order.... as well as an entry for Window Boot Manager MP300. Tried altering Boot order to use both options and got nothing, no boot into the MP300 W10 op system.
Added in a 180GB Sata HDD with W10x64 v1903 on it. Got that to open into Sign in widow...told Pword is wrong, after 3 attempts I reset pword and got a usable desktop.
In the early stages I thought the CMOS Battery had died or gone low power, so replaced it with new one. Didn't get the problem solved with the M.2 NVME opening to W10.
Stinker this one is. I tried doing chkdsk E:\ and was shown that the E:\ is not valid or recognised. Tried a few with /scan.../f/r.... all online ...might try this " /offlinescanandfix" Runs an offline scan and fix on the volume.... IF the E Drive can be seen in elevated CMD
Bit that has me wondering are the facts that the M.2 NVM2 MP300 SSD is listed as N/A in Bios, yet is visible in the Set boot order options and is visible and can open it to view and access the data stored on it...but it is not bootable. A PITA really. Fortunately I have use of this W10 on another HDD that I can use to put my thread here.
Thanks in advance
Garry

a few pics added...sorry I can't add one of the settings in BIOS....maybe I can get one with my mobile camera and add it.

to me

Hi Garry,

Thank you for your email. From my understanding, both the Corsair MP300 SSD and the intel 660p SSD you have purchased are both causing you issues and you are currently unable to boot to windows via any means. Is that correct?

If so, I believe that the problem at hand is most likely the Windows bootable media you are using. Perhaps it is corrupt in some form. Are you able to try and create a bootable usb using a different usb to the one you’re currently using? If so, please use the tool on Microsoft’s website which you can download here by clicking the “download tool now” button: www.microsoft.com

Kind Regards,

Hello. I inform you that I have never said that the Intel 660P 512 SSD is faulty. I purchased the Intel SSD because the Corsair MP300 is faulty. There is nothing wrong with the Windows 10 x64 v1903 DVD that I created from the MS Download using the Media Creation Tool. and there is nothing wrong with the W10 x64 v1903 that is installed on the Corsair MP300 N.2 NVMe SSD. As I detailed all of this in the full Thread to Press F1 to which I supplied you a link so you could access the Thread and read all the Comments from other Techs at the PF1 Forum and the replies I gave to the suggestions / comments from others, as well as there being a mass of uploaded images showing what I have tried and the results I received.I stated that the MP300 M.2 NVMe is refusing to Boot into Windows, refusing to allow any attempt to Wipe the Drive clean back to Unallocated Space, or to use the W10 DVD to access the SSD to Fresh reinstall Windows to it. The reasons it I am given for it failing to instal W10 are absurd: namely, That the drive is GPT and W10 can only be installed to an MBR and that is absurd because when I First installed W10 Pro x64 v1903 to the MP300 SSD I was informed that the version of W10 I was attempting to instal can only be installed to a GPT Drive and I ok'd for that to be done and the SSD was made into a GPT Drive and W10 v1903 was installed to it. The reason I am shown as to why I cannot use the W10 DVD to use Advanced Troubleshooting is that there is NO Op System to repair/ System Restore/Use Command Prompts or Boot into Safe mode. The Op System on it is 'nonexistant'When I use Disk Management apps to Delete the Partitions on the MP300 SSD I am told that the drive is being used by a process so nothing can be done to Fix/Delete the Partitions. As I said, When I have another HDD with the same W10 version installed to it so that I can access the Tools/ Apps I have to I cannot do any form or Repair or disk format of the MP300 SSD because its "being used by a process"...what that process is I have no idea and as I have used USBs with the Apps on them so I can Boot into them to try to get the MP300 'fixed' and working is total failure. YET when I have W10 on another HDD and am in Windows on that HDD, and the MP300 SSD is installed to the same computer, I can see the MP300 in ' This PC' Explorer and I can access the MP300 and it has a full W10 v1903 installed to it and all the apps/games and Pics/Docs etc , but it will NOT Boot into that MP300 SSD nor will it allow any repair. At the very end I purchased the Intel 660P 512 M.2 NVMe SSD, then I used Macrium Reflect app to image the MP300 and then I used Macrium to restore/install the created image of the MP300 onto the Intel 660 SSD and it was/ is a faultless fully working Widows 10 v1903 that is running on the Intel SSD and I am using it at this very moment to reply to your email. I'm sorry but I believe that you have not read the entire Thread I posted on PF1 forum because had you done so than I would not have had to write a summarised version of all that is detailed in the Thread to Press F1 forum. The Corsair MP300 SSD is 'Locked', refuses any attempts by myself to Repair / Remove the OS on it and it is a PITA.What else can I say.

Case dismissed.

Cheers for your help guys.

1463540 2019-10-03 20:02:00 I just skimmed through this all so probably missed a bit. Sounds suspiciously to me like the drive has become read only.
There's a short thread here that sounds similar forums.tomshardware.com and he just gave up on the drive

All the fixes for read only are basically the same as things you've tried so not worth going over again. But it's worth noting that when an SSD wears out it's supposed to become read only.
Not something I've ever experienced to know if the symptoms are like what you experienced, and no normal home use should come close to wearing out an SSD in probably several decades.

The oldest most used SSD I have tested is an intel 120GB Sata drive purchased many years ago and used as a boot drive constantly ever since. The diagnostic software reports 99% health.
