1468235 2020-04-17 05:26:00 Post your whatever you have been doing. (Well the polite ones anyway)

I ordered this as the seedlings were sulking, 10 degree temps at night lately.........
They all popped up almost immediately after......I have parsnips, carrot seeds in the ground, caulis and leeks in the seed trays - and those bigger caulis were just in the way so 1/2 got covered anyway...not that they need to be under it now really.

$29. pretty good value I reckon.
Only just pulled the beans out...they went for ages.

Aw...a real dog!
And kenj...that's a long way, you must be fit.

I have a friend who was quite fat, he got a Huntaway and walks it 4 times a day, 2km each time.....he isn't fat anymore........

I just saw this:

Isaac Newton, while home isolating from the plague, came up with the laws of gravity, optics and discovered calculus.

makes our efforts look a bit lame....

1468241 2020-04-17 21:17:00 Made a cold frame out of an old window and some decking off cuts, finished the sign and put it up for our property, mowed about 2 acres of lawn, collected horse poo from our winter guests and got new gardens put down for next spring planting, framed a piece of original art sent from my oldest friend in England (fishing boats at Dungeness), 4km min walk every day with SWMBO or on the days she is working from home 30-40km cycle ride.

Also look longingly at the hills opposite home and plan trips for when lockdown ends and have read 6 books (on my last library book and can't get more).

1468243 2020-04-17 21:49:00 What's a cold frame for? allblack (6574)
1468244 2020-04-17 21:56:00 What's a cold frame for?

Starting seedlings or hardening off plants from a greenhouse before they go outside for planting.

Alternatively you can put horse or cow poo in the bottom and let it heat from natural processes, that will be my next one as I have a double glazed pane from a door roughly 800x1850mm just need the shops to open or go back to work to source timber.

Thanks Ken we do have great views although can't see them today, rain and mist.
