2019-07-28 05:09:00 | My laptop will not boot up with the battery installed but boots up OK with it removed. Is it possible to test the battery if so how ? A new battery will probably cost more then a replacement laptop :-(( Cheers.

2019-07-28 07:25:00 | I tried the following on a laptop with a dead as battery, and it was pretty much successful, however the battery did not keep its charge for long so the guy replaced it with a new one for around $90. www.computerhope.com LL

2019-07-28 08:01:00 | It is possible that the battery is faulty and draining power from the mains adapter. I have a battery that does that, it is 10 years old. Use the computer with the battery removed, or buy a new battery on TradeMe for between $45 to $90.

2019-08-05 04:56:00 | Highly unlikely. Not unlikely at all - you just need to get your hands on the right tool: www.ebay.com Much cheaper to buy a new battery! Of course it could be a motherboard fault, or even bad power adapter that can't supply enough current to charge the battery and run the laptop at the same time... There could be a low/flat BIOS battery issue also.

2019-08-05 06:11:00 | Depending on the battery it can be cheaper to simply replace it ( would help if a model and make are supplied). If its the charger theres a easy way to test with a volt meter. | wainuitech (129) | |
