1249121 2011-12-17 03:49:00 All right! I'm tampering with 'The Dark Side'! :devil

I have bought my husband an iPad and want to transfer his videos/movies (in MP4 format). How do I best do this please?

A bit of background - he has a iPod (an Original) but has gone blind in one eye this last year. My thinking has been that an iPad would give him a larger screen to view/see the movies. I'm not that good with Apple stuff - do better with PC.:crying

And of course, I'm trying to do this under his nose....

Again, as always - TIA :)

1249123 2011-12-17 04:39:00 Mmm - I'd rather not use iTunes (potential problems with music - he had his whole classical collection there). I just want to transfer the movies over, but may have to use iTunes at the end of the day.... R.M. (561)
1249124 2011-12-17 04:46:00 Shouldnt affect them, if you didnt use tunes to add the MP3's Speedy Gonzales (78)
1249125 2011-12-17 04:52:00 I can't see any free software - sort of against my thinking to spend money for this! :( R.M. (561)
1249126 2011-12-17 04:54:00 Itunes is free, you dont pay for it Speedy Gonzales (78)
1249127 2011-12-17 06:51:00 iTunes will do it. You do not have to transfer music if you do not wish to. CliveM (6007)
1249128 2011-12-17 07:05:00 Thanks for your help. I DID use iTunes at the end of the day, and it worked well! R.M. (561)
1249129 2011-12-17 07:55:00 HandBrake should work ok for converting movies from what ever format they are currently in over to MP4/ACC format.

Just noticed you already have them in MP4.

Just install iTunes, plug in your Ipad, there will be a menu on the left hand side of the device you just plugged in and just drag and drop.

Works for me anyway.
