1223663 2011-08-17 02:42:00 That works out at $130 for keyboard with other crowd.

I wonder what it costs if bought seperately.

1223666 2011-08-17 21:59:00 Only one hour to go on that Transformer!

Wish I had the $$ up-front, looks like importing will be the way to go for me :-/

1223667 2011-08-17 23:31:00 The keyboard's about $230 locally retail, so by the time you pay $600 for the tablet + $230 for keyboard, you're only saving $65 from buying the tab + keyb for $895 retail. inphinity (7274)
1223668 2011-08-18 02:11:00 Yeah that's true, but I could do without the Keyboard for now, easier to buy it in chunks.. One one month, the other the following month... Chilling_Silence (9)
1223669 2011-08-18 02:18:00 PB tech in Hamilton have both models of the transformer on display, looks nice. I want one - but can't honestly say what I'd use it for.

For School use though I'm not sold on tablets, they are more portable and cooler perhaps but far less flexible than netbooks. Most reviews I have read, including here on PC world, have concluded that tablets are great for viewing content of any kind and playing back media or playing games but that when it comes to content creation a netbook or laptop is far more productive.

With a netbook you can install and run any windows based application and you get a full sized screen to look at while typing on a proper keyboard (ok the transformer does do that part too). You can also get netbooks cheaper than tablets, in fact you could buy a nice laptop for the price of a tablet.

1223670 2011-08-18 02:39:00 True, but I'm lucky in that I can type pretty darn well on one, even after only a few minutes worth of using the Iconia.

That, and I'd be more likely to take it with me over a Netbook.
