| 1223510 | 2011-08-16 13:07:00 | When Google say they've bought "Motorola" they mean Motorola Mobility which was a small part of the company. The rest is now known as Motorola Solutions. So who makes the chips? IIRC moto makes the current gen A-series CPUs for the iTurds, this was the first thing I thought of when I heard of the deal. Hear they're looking into new suppliers though. |

Hear they're looking into new suppliers though. Motorola had already spun off their CPU division as Freescale Semiconductor (2004) and other chips as ON Semiconductor (1999). Samsung seem to get mentioned as manufacturer of the Apple A4 and A5 |
