It was that the TV had blown a fuse. Replaced the fuse for about $2.00, and voila! - all OK :D

You can still use TiVo with a Satellite. (as far as I know)

Nope, sorry.

DVB-T and DVB-S are two very different transmission methods, as such they need different physical hardware to decode. TiVo USA has some sattelite models, but nothing here in NZ.
