I discussed your comment with three friends who have smartphones and they agree, adding that sometimes they also turn off 3G. And of course, reducing screen brightness. Don't think of it as a phone - think of it as a small-screen laptop. Good point. BTW I do realize it depends on what and for how long a smartphone is used for but some are more power hungry, with smaller battery capacity. Wildfire and Wildfire S have different batteries - which one are you looking for information on? I've used both, and think the Wildfire S has a better battery life than the original Wildfire. With data and Wi-Fi off, my Wildfire S lasts around 7 days. I used to have to be pretty ruthless with taskkiller to keep the Wildfire at decent levels. Wildfire S is the one. Thanks for the "7 days" report - that is the sort of feedback I was looking for. Even 3 days would be good. I just don't want to have a smartphone that dies less than a day, with data, WIFI, etc turned off. Rather than manually managing your Wifi status, use the "Y5" app - this enables the phone to run with Wifi off, except when you are in a 'recognised/remembered' wifi area (like, at home) If I turned 3G on all the time and have WiFi on it will probably dip down to less then 35% with medium usage during the day before I hit bed at around 11pm. That is the sort of feedback I was looking for - thanks. |
