| 1223950 | 2011-08-17 07:49:00 | I love eggs, eat a tray of 30 every week. Don't eat much meat. My Doctor tells me that eggs are one of the best foods available, and not harmful. On the other hand, 'her indoors' has been told by her Doctor that eggs are bad for you and she should limit her intake to 2 a week! Neither of us has a cholesterol problem. |

| 1223952 | 2011-08-17 08:11:00 | Limiting intake of eggs to 2 a week used to be the advice given in cardiac rehab. around 20 years ago. The thinking then was that eating foods relatively high in cholesterol also raised the body cholesterol. In more recent years the medico pundits have discounted this idea, and say it's ok to eat eggs in moderation. Possibly 30 a week exceeds the concept of moderation. It irks me that because of that early advice I went without my favourite daily poached egg on toast for breakfast, and switched to the 'healthy porridge and oat bran' breakfast. :banana Since being prescribed simvastatin, my total cholesterol level has dropped to around 3, so I can afford to ignore the rules every now and then |

It is a tomato extract and very effective at lowering cholesterol levels I gather. |

I eat about 10 a week myself, love eggs but 30 eggs seems a bit much! The only guy I know who eats at least 30 eggs a week is a bodybuilder. He's had his cholesterol checked, nothing out of the ordinary. But of course keep in mind not everybody is the same.... |
