1224313 2011-08-18 22:20:00 Just as the TouchPad is launched in NZ :groan:

And this article (www.marketwatch.com) suggests they may be getting out of the hardware business entirely...

I for one would certainly not miss their Pavilion range of crap!

1224314 2011-08-18 22:39:00 webOS was always going to be a flop :2cents: pcuser42 (130)
1224315 2011-08-18 23:20:00 On the contrary - with the right amount of commitment WebOS would have taken on Android. I downloaded the SDK and had a play with the emulator when the Pre was about to launch - amazing! It was comparable with Android as at today from a UI point of view.

Unfortunately, WebOS got caught up in some bad management, first at Palm and then at HP, who didn't see it's potential (or who saw it, and didn't want to invest).

Go try a TouchPad at Harvey Normans - you'll be pleasantly surprised, I'm sure. And they'll probably be selling them off even cheaper now!!

All very well saying that but you really need to explain why.

Thats a pity (a problem)
I sell alot of HP Business Class PC's (Not PAV's), as they are so reliable .
I guess parts & 3year HP warranties will now also become an issue

Please... dont make me switch to Acer (just joking), buts whats left for brand name business class PC's -(ie with Win Pro & 3year warranty) ??
Maybe Lenovo ??
