The procedure and stay in hospital is OK but you won't want to get on a bicycle for awhile! If you plan any air flights, especially international, it will be a good test for the security screening. :waughh:

Yep that's the one - and quite right the bicycle will be off the agenda for a while.

Quite looking forward to getting it over and done - and it sure beats the alternative.

Luckily got it really early - and honestly if you're over 45 and in any doubt at all, go get checked as it could save your life.

Hope all is well, you cantankerous git.

Gee thanks - I'm coming over all sentimental.

If you don't mind, would you mind spelling it out for me? not quite sure what you are having done

It is called brachytherapy and is a treatment for prostate cancer that involves putting around a hundred radioactive seeds into your prostate.

1225186 2011-08-25 07:58:00 Good luck with that, I guess you will hear almost every lame joke on the subject an extremely large number of times.
Looks like PF! goes under the knife on Tuesday too - any bets on how many gremlins hatch?

Had to look it up, and in the process, I came across THIS - not for the fainthearted! (www.google.co.nz).

Wish you all the best, 12v.

In a lighter vein, some OZ medics discovered last year that those men who masturbated frequently were the least likely to suffer from prostate problems.

You never cease to amaze us 12v, by proving our opinions totally unjustified ...

So are you saying masturbation is like insurance?

That's a thought, but the inference here is that non-******s are least likely to be afflicted

Not really - but it likely is one factor that will lower the chances of getting it. Green tea, red wine and tomatoes also appear to be useful. One in four men is estimated to have prostate cancer by age 50, eight out of ten by age 70.
