1224644 2011-08-20 04:49:00 I was wondering today whether there'd be merit in adjusting the driving age for learner drivers according to their IQ and EQ scores. The lower the score, the higher their age must be before getting behind the wheel.

There certainly seems to be either low EQ or low IQ behind a hell of a lot of the crappy driving out there on the roads.

1224645 2011-08-20 04:55:00 Can you even put a car in park while it's moving at that speed? (never tried and never plan to)

Surely just pulling the handbrake would've worked?

1224646 2011-08-20 05:04:00 When you play the video you can hear the park pawl trying to engage as he goes past the cop car (the razzing noise) after the cop tells him to, most times they wont engage while moving (by design).

Most american vehicles have an emergency brake pedal (on left of clutch, with a locking mechanism), he'd probably worn that out too :).

1224649 2011-08-20 08:05:00 What an Idiot, and as for the cop telling him to put it in park he's obviously no genius either. Should have just switched it off, engine breaking isn't fantastic on autos but better than shoes. dugimodo (138)

Most autos won't, self-protection mechanism. They sure stop in a hurry at around 5ish Km/H though!

IIRC one episode of mythbusters tested it, but that was only one make... also, it turns out that manuals don't like being shoved into reverse at speed either. Who would've thought?
