1224184 2011-08-18 02:41:00 Went to a preview of the Billy T James (no relation :D) movie last night, courtesy of Mrs T who enters any competition going, and this is our 3rd preview in as many weeks. Previews are great, no ads, just cut to the chase. But I digress...

The move features the man himself, from babyhood right through to his unfortunate demise (at 43 for god's sake!) with many classic comedy performances and a sensitive narrative binding it all together.

At the conclusion there was spontaneous applause from the audience, followed by the credits, and more applause, something I have never seen before in a movie theatre, especially for the credits, and nobody moved until the screen went blank and the lights came on. I like to think it was a tribute to the man himself, and the many of his loyal friends who helped put the film together to keep his memory alive.

Not your ordinary movie by any means!

Te Movie.. Go see it.

You will laugh, you will be moved, you may cry, but you will remember.

Cheers

1224186 2011-08-18 02:59:00 Thanks Billy T. Your namesake was the only true comedian that New Zealand has ever produced that I can recall.
Such a loss and so glad they made a movie tribute.

1224192 2011-08-18 04:38:00 I'm keen if there's lots of him in it, but not if there's lots of his colleagues going on.

How was it that way?

Sky Comedy channel has Billy T on staring next week, will be watching those.

Lands For Bags - "where did I get my bag?" "Pinched it, he he he".
