| 1226695 | 2011-08-28 12:47:00 | Like an apple's core? I baked a purple kumara in the oven for about 20 mins today. Upon cutting it open afterwards, i noticed the kumara had a purplish core in the middle, very hard, cant really be eaten. Never seen this before in any of the other kumara i cooked (even other purple ones). |

| 1226700 | 2011-08-28 20:22:00 | Kumara should be stored in a cool, dark place that is well ventilated . Ideally the temperature should be 13-17°C with a relative humidity of 75-80% . Kumara should never be refrigerated or stored at less than 12°C as this will result in chilling damage which results in shrivelling, increased decay, surface pitting and sometimes causes a hard core to develop . This hard core will fail to soften during cooking . Sprouting becomes a problem at higher storage temperatures . Kumara are ethylene sensitive so store separately from ethylene producing fruits and vegetables . |

| 1226702 | 2011-08-28 23:46:00 | Also no need to call them potatoes, they are Just Kumara. I think it's also the plural so no need to add an "s". Nitpick for today over :) |

| 1226704 | 2011-08-29 01:20:00 | Thing is, i didnt refrigerate it...i put it in a kitchen cupboard and only stored it in a plastic bag with other kumara. And yea its too late for photos(its in the rubbish bin now). Will take some if i ever see it again though. |
