2011-08-24 23:02:00 | I'm very impressed with HP - they've made a nice Pavilion DV6!! :clap Just had a new one in yesterday to run up and configure, and I'm very impressed with it. Heaps of brushed aluminum-looking plastic, which is good at not showing fingerprints and feels solid. In fact the only bit of the laptop with a reflective surface is the screen bezel and between the keys, so a decent effort there from HP. The touch pad is very nice, feels ‘right’, unlike the unholy botch up that was last years ones, they were without doubt the worst touch pads I’ve used. The chiclet keyboard feels good, and is well spaced and laid out. There are no silly touch sensitive buttons, and the buttons that are there are sensible and feel good. Can't believe it, but I'd happily own one... what's happening! www.engadget.com There's some pics. Guess time will tell if they are any more reliable.

2011-08-24 23:07:00 | I have one. It has the 1.6GH i7 chip running Win7 64bit and I am extremely happy with it. It runs a lot cooler than my Toshiba that it replaced. I have been doing some AVCHD editing for my son and it handles it pretty well> Ken :clap

2011-08-24 23:22:00 | "Fixing" tells me they made it reliable, which has not been the case with the DV series for quite a few years. | Alex B (15479) | |

2011-08-25 04:36:00 | Just wish they would stop bundling all the crappy software with them. Nortons is the first thing to go, followed by Bing Bar and Winzip to begin with. | Iantech (16386) | |

They should just get rid of all their software... I hate it when I get a new laptop then have to go and delete all the junk off. It looks really nice, wonder if the new ones overheat?? |
