| 1226348 | 2011-08-31 11:29:00 | Kid and dog circa 1956 tractor circa 1947 :devil Photo of kid and dog - definitely post 1948 - probably 1949/1950. Tractor date? I haven't the foggiest, but as you can see it was well worn by 1950! I spent hours and hours and many miles sitting on the mudguard of that tractor on an old sack, whilst my cousin ploughed, harrowed, disked, rolled, or harvested. Refreshment was mutton sandwiches, washed down by cold black tea from a beer bottle protected by a couple of socks. Them were the days. OSH nowadays would not approve of a kid sitting on a tractor mudguard, with sharp implements being towed behind. Sigh. |

Farms are still the most dangerous workplaces in NZ, for one reason, Farmers are retarded morons. And until that is beaten out of their moronic heads then people will continue (children included) to die in larger numbers then is warranted. Shame on them, and the fools that condone the crap that goes on. |

As much as it may make sense to let the stupid ones kill themselves off its the rest of us that have to pay for their crap (not only financially but they kill other smarter people as well), and they are breeding faster then they are getting themselves killed. That aside, It depends on how H&S is implemented, It can either be used to tie every bodies hands and not let them decide on an action (as in it stops them thinking about their job as someone smarter has done that and written it on a piece of paper) or it can be used to force those that don't have the capacity to look after their own and others welfare to actually engage their brain and take a second or two to think about how they are doing their job. If a farmer reads this and then tomorrow he asks himself if that power cable across the cattle stalls is a good idea (its not, its ****in stupid), or if that post rammer should be repaired before it gets used again, or if hey, maybe the kids shouldn't be riding an adult sized quad then the world maybe a slightly better place. And I'd be happy if that person considered me a moron. |
