1251647 2012-01-01 23:00:00 Hi Team

Compliments of the New Year to you all.

I have problems with the default four-file limitation in Publisher 2003, which I find to be totally inadequate, whereas Word allows storage up to twelve via a simple menu setting.

I have followed the same protocols as for Word but the option is not present, and searched elsewhere extensively for a solution but without success, but I'm guessing that a hack of some sort is needed in a registry entry or some other configuration file.

Unfortunately I have had no success with web searches, but I may be using the wrong search terms perhaps?

Has anybody managed to overcome this limitation?

Cheers

1251648 2012-01-02 07:51:00 This is a bit of a stab in the dark so to speak, dont have any computers with Office 2003 to try it on .

WARNING: MAKE A RESTORE POINT, or back up the registry first -- Just in case:

Have a look at This article ( . liutilities . com/products/registrybooster/tweaklibrary/tweaks/10793/" target="_blank">www . liutilities . com) and do it in reverse .

Meaning, the article shows how to remove the four entry limit to zero, so theoretically, if you ADD in other counter keys, so they say File5, File6 etc, it May increase the limit to what you want .

To see any values of the current entries, open them all and make sure you can see/compare the contents .

Just make sure you do it slowly and one at a time, and know what was done so it can be reversed if needed . Hence the backup/restore of the registry .

1251649 2012-01-02 08:41:00 Add to above:

If you dont get back in time, or dont want to try it, I can always load up copy of Windows XP or W7 & office 2003 to try it tomorrow or the next day. If that all turns to custard its no big deal, as it will be wiped again sooner than later :)

1251650 2012-01-02 09:05:00 OK ignore all of the above -- Just threw Office 2003 onto a fresh install of XP, and while you can add in other file numbers they dont translate to giving more views. Must be another reg hack someplace. wainuitech (129)
