1253039 2012-01-09 00:47:00 Hi
I am currently using the x32 version of Windows 7 and am wondering if upgrading to the x64 version of Windows is worth it so I can use more than 4gb of RAM? This is because I often run out of physical memory ( I have 4gb installed) when running games or doing 3D rendering and when multitasking multiple RAM intensive programs.

Thanks.

1253040 2012-01-09 01:06:00 Thats the only way you're going to use more than 4 GB. Install x64. Altho, if you use 32 bit programs, these also have a limit. So, if you want to use more ram for programs, you'll also have to install 64 bit programs. If they're available, for what you want to do Speedy Gonzales (78)

1253042 2012-01-09 01:12:00 Just in case you didn't know, it will have to be fully reinstalled along with all your programs and data ( after its been backed up) , you cant upgrade a current 32 bit OS to 64. wainuitech (129)
