1252919 2012-01-08 05:44:00 Hi,
I have an iPod Touch 8gb (not sure if 2g or 3g) and i cant install IOS 5.
When I tried to install it a pop-up said that my iPod was up to date (IOS 4)
Is there any way to install IOS 5 on my iPod.
Thanks.

1252920 2012-01-08 05:48:00 Your ipod isn't supported by IOS5. icow (15313)
1252921 2012-01-08 05:55:00 Apple stopped support for the iPod 2G and iPhone 3G months ago. The iPod 3G 8GB is counted as a 2G, only the 32GB and 64GB models are counted as 3rd Generations. So the highest firmware you will be able to update to is 4.2.1. sahilcc7 (15483)
1252922 2012-01-08 06:13:00 What about if I JailBreak it? stratex5 (16685)
1252923 2012-01-08 06:25:00 Yeah you should be able to get 5.01 then. It will be more difficult than standard jailbreak as you don't have the firmware by default. icow (15313)
1252924 2012-01-08 06:28:00 Could you post how to do that or post a link to show how to do this.
Thanks.

1252927 2012-01-08 11:02:00 With Whited00r, you might not be able to downgrade to 3.1.3, because you have updated to 4.2.1. I'm pretty sure you can't use whited00r because you have to be on iOS 3.1.3. So they are going to release 'RedD00r' which is for iOS 4 users. www.ijailbreak.com

You probably won't get iMessage and iCloud..etc, but will get the 'look and feel' of iOS 5.
