1227818 2011-09-03 13:01:00 Encryption in bittorrent only encrypts the data being sent, and is really only to get past ISPs which do packet-shaping (throttling) of bittorrent traffic.

As pointed out before, anyone who connects to the same tracker as you, can straight away see your and everyone else's IP address, no matter if you use encryption or not.

1227819 2011-09-03 13:38:00 But if they connect to the tracker, arent they illegally downloading/uploading as well? Question (15792)
1227820 2011-09-03 22:19:00 No copyright letters have been received so far after all.

Telstra Clear contacted me it seems because they thought I hadn't paid my bill, and I had paid through their web site and had confirmation from the bank that the payment had gone through to them. The guy from their finance department insisted I provide a payment acknowledgement reference number, so he got the one they gave me which was 00000000. I was eventually put through to a manager as it seems they didn't like my suggestion that it wasn't my problem that their IT team had a fault with their online payment system (ok I was a little grumpy at all but being accused of lying by this point). Still not sure if they found my payment but clearly they have some technical issues there at Telstra Clear, not to mention they need to train there collections staff in customer service. I'm still awaiting an apology but I suspect I will wait a long time.

PS Contrast this with Westpac who couldn't have been more helpful in confirming Telstra Clear had processed the payment.

1227821 2011-09-03 22:27:00 That is where the law fails. \

This is how the law wins.

Poor old dad can remove the P2P software off the computer and he can't be pinged, if he fails to ensure his children aren't breaking the law then good job.

Parents should be accountable for the actions of their children.

Good to see you made it back 12V.

Think Telstra may have made a big bo-bo with their payments -- been trying to contact them regarding a minor change only they can do at their end and the lines have been very busy with calls most of the week.

Now that's strange ... on your thread it says forced to drink DB (which of course would be punishment enough for any man ... including 007) but you quote actually says watch Shortland Street (although I must agree that the outcome of either would have a similar effect ... even on 007 again)

I was actually thinking they may have just shot him and buried in him in an unmarked grave ... very similar to what the CIA did to the two shooters on the grassy knoll ... :D

1227827 2011-09-03 23:08:00 Ah Metla ... can I ask how many kids you have and what their ages are ??

2 sons

4 and 7.

Watch me laugh when they are 16 and banned from using my net connection.

The point is actions have consequences, adults understand this better then children so they are in a position to take the required actions to protect themselves.

Learning this is part of the transition from child to adult, look at wolf, he isn't there yet, He's a kid using his parents internet and doesn't have the capacity to give a ****.
