"Helping parents around the world" I can see a lot of fast explaining going on esp if it's SWMBO that's checked the family computer.

1227789 2011-09-02 00:14:00 OK ... so I have about 180 files ... including MSOffice files (legit) ... and I only did a fresh install of XP SP3 + Office onto this HD 2 days ago ... No wonder 12volts is still behind bars ...

Somehow I don't see this working in the real world ... just another way to clog up the courts and keep the legals in champers & caviar.

1227790 2011-09-02 00:27:00 Running it now, it is up to 280 already. Hilarious since I just did a fresh install of windows 7 two days ago when I got my laptop back. Only programs I have are Office 2010 (Legit) and freeware. :D xyz823 (13649)

1227792 2011-09-02 00:40:00 The link posted by Wainuitech is useless as posted by PaulD and Chilling_Silence. The link is on that site, and the whole point being it only goes to show, if certain agency's use such software to track or identify people as breaching copyrighted material, then its very obvious lots of peopler are going to be falsely accused of doing illegal downloading when in fact they aren't. wainuitech (129)
1227793 2011-09-02 00:46:00 Yeah. So it turns out that site is setup & run by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA).

Pretty mediocre looking website all things considered. Somehow doubt they're about to take that link to the software down...

What agency's are you referring to Wainui that would use that to track copuright breaches.

True. But then, hopefully, law enforcement agencies will not use such software will they?
Snorkbox (15764)
1227796 2011-09-02 01:01:00 And surely they're not going to be stupid enough to use software like that ... it's going to give them that many false positives that it'll be an embarrassment to them.

Maybe it's John Keys way of creating jobs ... it's going to take an army to sort out what's legal and what's not !

1227797 2011-09-02 01:12:00 Nah they basically just use a torrent client of some description which interrogates the tracker, grab the same torrent file you grab (For example for the latest Transformers movie), finds the users connected, and then there's bugger all else they need really coz you're either downloading or seeding it, both of which are illegal.
