Seriously, the sooner this change comes, and people get used to it, the better. It is only going back to what the road rules were before 1973, and brings us into sync with the rest of the world. It is not as though we were about to start driving on the right! Some bureaucrat would be more correct, from the dept of lets complicate things, we have nothing else to do.	Cicero (40)
1228012	2011-09-03 06:27:00	The rule was changed to get us in step with the Austra-flamin-aliens. If it was a good enough reason then, it is surely a good enough reason now. However, if the fetterd race to the West are following us, but out of phase - who knows. At the moment, I give way to dirty or battered cars, elephants and trains. Shiny cars with up-to-the-minute number plates usually give way to most things, so I ignore them. SUVs outside schools are naturally best avoided, but if encountered should be treated like a rabid dog with a hair trigger explosive belt.	R2x1 (4628)
1228013	2011-09-03 23:25:00	The change was originally made to be in step with Australia, who were going to change as R2x1 says, but in the end the Aussies DIDN"T change. We did!!! So we were then out of step with EVERYBODY!!! No we are changing back to the rules we should have had all along. Good thinking.	Richard (739)
1228014	2011-09-03 23:51:00	The rules have changed as the right hand rule did not allow for those turning right into a road on their right into a road where there is no Stop sign, Give way sign etc as the new rules will. For example at the moment I have to give way to all vehicles on my right. The new variant will allow me to turn right across another turning right if I am on a straight through road.
