Haha, believe it or not they don't yet, no plans to upgrade either at this stage from what I hear.

1226882 2011-09-19 23:32:00 When I put address in it says I should have ADSL2+ service, but with the ADSL2 cabinets toggled on my house is NOT in the pink ADSL2 section but rather in the generic orange Exchange section. Would this mean I can't get ADSL2+?

My speeds are (in my opinion) poor. Looking at the status in my router it shows between 1400 and 2400 kbps downstream and around 500-800 kbps upstream. I am using a Linksys WAG545G2 running standard firmware. I can't seem to find anywhere where it shows the line attenuation figures. Anyone know where I can find these and what they maybe should be (rough range)?

No it just means you're being fed from the Exchange, not the Cabinet. PM me with your *rough* street address and I'll advise :)

The WAG54G2's are crap, but anyways, look under the ADSL Status Page, see if you can post the stats back.

1226884 2011-09-20 03:24:00 check out www.internode.on.net for an Idea of what speed you should get at what distances. On good cable it is fairly accurate.
Somewhere I had a graph for Xtra but it's the same as this one anyway. As you can see at anything over 3-3.5KM all the advantages dissappear and you might as well stay on ADSL1.

I don't have a link for VDSL but it's not being offered as yet anyway.

Telecom Xtra have a minimum connection speed they will provision ADSL at, I think it is 2M but I may be wrong. In the early days when ADSL was new if it worked they would connect customers at lower speeds if requested with no garauntee of performance. The minimum speed was introduced later to prevent issues caused by overly long lines etc.

Had my first sex there when I was at Mot High. In a tent, on the beach and in car up at the lookout.

I guess that more information than you require but what the heck.

1226888 2011-09-20 12:26:00 Yes 2mbps and 55db attenuation is their cut off point.

Jas, basically I checked and you're being fed from the exchange (Cabinets in your area are already in and you won't be fed from one) but you should be syncing faster. We need to know your SNR / Attenuation details from the router. It's probably going to involve starting with your home wiring / splitters first, and then going to Telecom from there.

1226889 2011-11-18 03:47:00 All the cabinets now done, just the main exchange to do, and our ADSL has been very patchy all day, not long now... :nerd:

Set up a modem this morning that is about 1.5km away from the King Edward St cabinet - syncing at over 15mbit. :D
