| 1253952 | 2012-01-13 20:30:00 | How much to fit 6 port USB 3 to PC cabinet? Am I correct in saying that the USB 2 work on the 3 units? |

Simply putting in a USB device into a USB3 port isn't going to give you USB3 speeds, you are still only going to get data transfer as fast as the device will work. |

My thinking was, if I am going to get them fitted to front of computer, I might as well get 3 and be future proof. |

You will more than likely need a card reader style device that sits in the 3.5" or 5.25" drive bays in the case, that will then generally plug into a USB header on the board. Does your board have USB3 -- plugging a USB 3 device into a USB2 header will only give you USB2 speeds.. |

If the replacement works, that is transmit, then that will do for now. Like I said, if I plug a USB drive into new unit, there is no recognition what so ever and that can't be right? |
