1253275 2012-01-10 04:11:00 I have lost sound on my laptop!!!! and it is driving me crazy.:help:
the sound devices all appear to be working correctly, none of the volume controls appear to be muted, however it seems to me that there must be another control which I haven't found. Hey, it is Microsoft and it is Vista. I am not getting sound via the onboard speakers or the headphones but when I plug it into the TV I get sound via the HDMI cable.
Anyone got any ideas?

1253277 2012-01-10 04:19:00 Change the sound output under sounds in control panel. Its probably defaulted to HDMI if youre using it Speedy Gonzales (78)
1253278 2012-01-11 00:39:00 Thanks Speedy, But no. Default is set as speakers. I am thinking that there is somewhere else that is either switched off or is defaulted the wrong way but I can't find it and all the devis=ces indicate they are working correctly. I will just have to use the phones in the meantime. theother1 (3573)
1253279 2012-01-12 11:43:00 Dirt in, or broken switch on headphone socket (cuts off your onboard speakers when you plug headphones in). feersumendjinn (64)
