1228983 2011-09-05 12:08:00 Its in the international foods section...i boiled them for ~5 minutes and they have a strange chemical taste afterwards. This happen to anyone else? Question (15792)
1228984 2011-09-05 20:45:00 Cannot comment on the noodles but if they tasted strange and your Countdown is not out of your way, I would take them back and let them know. What about any expiry date on the packet. You only have the one packet or several.

We bought a couple of bottles of Sprite one day some months ago for a Birthday Party and when we opened them, one of them was as flat as ......took the offending bottle back couple of days later when next in the city and they replaced the bottle with a couple of new one's and the old bottle was going to be sent away to the supplier.

Are they the noodles in the square card board box at about $5 a packet ?

1228985 2011-09-05 21:41:00 Since they're from Countdown, I would absolutely not have bought them. R2x1 (4628)
1228986 2011-09-06 16:46:00 They are in 200g plastic packets. So far ive eaten 4 packets, and they all seem to smell and taste strange after boiling them.

Whats wrong with countdown? Its not like i have much choice here, its pretty much the only supermarket nearby (except for one or two small asian marts, but they dont carry everything).

Uhm. I would suggest stop eating those packet of noodles if the taste is making you queasy. I am not sure what's the exact cause behind those queer taste, but the packet of noodle could have expired? You can also lodge a complaint with the company and either ask for a refund, a replacement or an explanation.

Cheers :)

P.S. Whereabout in New Zealand are you, Question?

Nissin all the way. You owe your instant noodles to the now late founder of Nissin.
